January 2008

It looks like 2008 will be the year of compilations!

Monica recently recorded the title track for the new Sea to Sea album (30 Canadian Worship Songs):  The Voice of Creation, which is now available at your local Christian bookstore.     (She's the first voice you'll hear on the album.)

The Gospel Music Assocation Canada also chose to include "The Voice of Creation" on a special GMA 30th Anniversary CD to be released January 2008. This album celebrates the history of Canadian Christian music with a limited edition 3 CD set featuring over 45 tracks from both today’s top artists and the biggest names in Christian music from the past including Starfield, Brian Doerksen, Connie Scott, Rhythm and News, Relient K, Hawk Nelson, Hokus Pick, Carolyn Arends, Steve Bell, downhere, Daniel Band, Paul Brandt, The Suspenders, George Beverly Shea and many more.

Monica will also be one of about a dozen women from Huron County featured on a compilation called Noted! to be released May 2008.

And if that weren't enough, Monica is also currently working on a compilation specifically for those in a difficult season of life -- an honest album woven with lyrics and music of hope, truth and comfort.  She's excited to be including in this recording both familiar and new artists whose hearts have a particular leaning to those in a season of suffering.  (Release date: TBA)

July 2007

Monica's song "Lend Me Your Hope" featured among international artists uniting to end child poverty.   July 2007 marks the launch of the new Worldview website, featuring 16 singer/songwriters from ten countries promoting organizations that work to combat extreme child poverty, specifically through child sponsorship.

January 2007

"If Everything is Lost" was nominated for Folk Album of the Year at the
Shai Awards, the "people's choice" awards for Christian music in Canada.  Of course, the lovely and talented veteran Carolyn Arends won in our category.  Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote... even three times.

Fall 2005

Two of Monica's songs were recently added to a new compilation album called In His Hands - Worldwide Worship (Volume 1).  This exciting project features 18 creative new worship songs from all over the world, including Canada, USA, Australia, UK, Malaysia, New Zealand and Germany.  If you are a worship leader looking for some new material or simply someone who likes to listen to something new and fresh, this album can now be bought online at CD baby.

Lend Me Your Hope, one of the songs that has had the most enthusiastic response, has now been set to a slideshow.  We invite you to take a few moments to view it and share the link with people you know who are in need of hope, or are walking alongside someone who is.

Some of the responses have been overwhelming:

"This made my day.  Never have I experienced something so tender and yet so powerful at the same time."  -- Bobby

"I just listened got through listening to ‘’Lend Me Your Hope” again—it’s so beautiful and touching. I fell in love with the music the first time I heard it and each time I listen to it I think of you and the compassion you are sharing with others."  -- Linda
